5 Ways Bungie Could Make Armor Lock Less Overpowered in Halo: Reach

Armor lock is one of the most complained about features in Halo: Reach and is said to be way too powerful – and overused. Whether you’re a fan of armor lock or not, you’d have to agree that it’s a bit overpowered. What other armor ability, power up, or feature in any Halo game allowed destroying vehicles, invincibility, a harmful EMP burst radius, shed sticky grenades, and gave enemies an opportunity to recharge their shields all at the same time? Armor lock is most certainly overpowered and following are several ways to keep armor lock in Halo: Reach, all while making it less overpowered.

Delay Consecutive Armor Lock Times

One of the most annoying things about armor lock is the fact that characters can spam the armor lock more than once and gain an unfair advantage when they would have otherwise been dead. I’m not totally opposed to allowing Halo: Reach players the ability to armor lock more than once, but I definitely feel that adding a delay between armor lock would make players think about how and when they use armor lock – instead of cheaply spamming in and out of armor lock to throw sticky grenades, melee, or run away before spamming armor lock for the second time. The verification of the gaming websites is important for the developers. The tactics and tricks of the playing should be registered under the 토토사이verification websites.

Sticky Shedding Deactivated

I understand why Bungie decided not to let players get stuck with sticky grenades while they’re in armor lock [players would just stick and kill armor lockers, duh], but why Bungie allows sticky grenades that are stuck to armor lockers before they go into armor lock to be shed off while in armor lock; I have no idea. Sticky grenades used to be sacred and throwing a sticky grenade across the map or even sticking a player with a sticky grenade up front brought a thrill like no other in other Halo games – and now that thrill is turned to crap when that stuck opponent goes into armor lock.

EMP Should Affect Vehicles Only

When a player goes into armor lock an EMP burst is shot out that damages nearby opponents and vehicles – and it ‘ s a huge load of crap. In effect allowing armor lockers to hurt players while entering in armor lock gives armor lockers a “I can hurt you, but you can’t hurt me” complex and provides an unfair advantage for the overpowered armor lock ability.

Kill the Frosting

After coming out of armor lock a player is given yet a second dose of invincibility momentarily as they “frost” away their armor lock. While an armor lock is frosting they can’t be sniped, grenaded, rocketed or hurt in any way and it gives armor lockers an opportunity to flee or retaliate after armor locking. Frosting needs to be axed from the countless other armor lock perks in order to make it a more balanced armor ability.

Armor Lock – Not Locks

In order to make armor lock totally fair – in the scheme of armor abilities – armor lock should only be allowed one time before the armor lock armor ability reloads. Every other armor ability has a weakness and giving armor lock a one-time use before recharging rule wouldn’t completely fix the armor lock armor abilities overpowered problem, but it would definitely help.

Review Of Zeit 2 (Zeit Squared) For Pc, Xbox 360 Live Arcade, And Playstation 3 Network

Available on Xbox 360 LIVE Arcade, the PlayStation 3 Network, and Windows PC from Steam, Zeit2 (Zeit Squared) is a side scrolling shooter with a twist.

Unlike other previous entries in the genre, Zeit2 adds several new gaming elements that make it stand out from the crowd. The most noticeable in Zeit2’s game play is the use of time (however we’ll get back to that in just a moment).

Enemies that pass by you can eat away a small chunk of your life. Naturally, the impulse is to not take your hand off the trigger button – however that would be a mistake. To complicate things, every shot that you take in Zeit2 which misses an enemy also nips a small bit from your life as well. This contention can’t help but to create a little anxiety while playing, as it is almost impossible to destroy every enemy on the screen. Enter Zeit2’s clever use of time travel.

If you’ve played Microsoft’s Game Room, then you’re no stranger to rewinding your game play in order to fix mistakes. In Zeit2, rather than just fixing a mistake you replay the game alongside your ship from the past. This lets you either finish off stray enemies on the opposite side of the screen as your ship’s ghost, or team up with yourself to deal double the damage to a boss.

While playing the Steam verison of Zeit2, and the first thing I noticed was just how colorful it is. In addition to a traditional arcade mode, there are several additional modes to play on – each of which is tracked on a separate leaderboard.

There are a total of eight large bosses to defeat in Zeit2’s twenty chapters, and although the main arcade mode can be beaten within just a few short hours it is the plethora of extra game modes that make Zeit2 so much more in depth and add extra replay value to the game when compared to other side scrollers.

I’ve played Zeit2 on and off for just over a month, and unlike other similar games Zeit2keeps drawing me back to it even after completely beating the game on Judi Slot Online which doubled my bet amount in more significant manner compared to any other service in the category. That’s because there’s just so many little nuances in Zeit2 that you’ll find yourself spending twenty minutes here or thirty minutes there to perfect your technique. How many Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network games have you played that accomplish this same feat?

The graphics and sound track in Zeit2 aren’t as jaw droppingly insane as the game play, however they accurately fit the game. Combined with its creative new use of life (and time), innovative extra game modes, and fun factor, Zeit2 deserves a solid eight out of ten.

If you are a fan of older games in the genre like 1942, Super R Type, or U.N. Squadron, then Zeit2 is a must own title. For those who’ve never played a side scroller shoot-em-up, then Zeit2 will immediately become one of your favorite games.

7 Terms for the Beginning Sports Better

Are you heading to Las Vegas soon, and looking to make a bet? Here are 7 terms you are sure to hear within the sports betting marketplace. Beside the knowledge of all these terms sport enthusiast must visit agen judi online for more betting tips and knowledge. You get latest sports updates and you can even play online sports game there as well.

  1. Point spread

Also known as the Spread, or Line. This is the number the bookmaker assigns to teams to designate them either a favorite or underdog for betting purposes. A favored team will have points subtracted from it, an underdog will have points added to it. For example if the Dallas Cowboys are listed at (-7) vs. the NY Giants (+7), they would be a 7 point favorite.

In this situation if you want to bet Dallas on the point spread, they must win by 8 points or more for you to win the bet. If you like the Giants they would have to win the game, or lose the game by less than 7 points. If Dallas wins the game by exactly 7 points it is called a “push”, and you get your money back – essentially no one wins.

How much can you win betting the point spread?

For the most part point spreads are bet using odds of 11/10. For example, to win $10, you have to put $11 at risk. If you win the bet you would get back $21, your initial $11 investment, plus your $10 in winnings. Of course if you lose the bet you would lose the $11 you put at risk.

  1. Total

Also called Over/Under. Another common type of bet, where instead of betting on the winner using the point spread, you bet on the total number of points or runs scored in a game. For example, if the total in the Vikings/Lions game is 46.5 you can bet that the total points scored in the game by both teams will be either more or less than 46.5. Again in most instances standard 11/10 odds are used in totals wagers.

  1. Money line

The money line is offered in all baseball, hockey, and many football and basketball games. It simply means you bet on which team will win the game, with no point spread involved. For example if a team is -250 on the money line, you would bet $25 to win $10. If a team is a +250 underdog, you would only have to wager $10 to win $25. Money lines correspond to odds, ie. -300 is another way of saying a team is a 3/1 favorite.

  1. Parlay

A bet in which two or more teams/bets must both win for you to collect – if only one wins you lose. Parlays are more difficult to win, but the payouts are better. For example a 2 team parlay betting point spreads typically pays odds of 13/5 – you would risk $5 to potentially win $13. In many sportsbooks you can bet upwards of 8 or more teams in a parlay. In these cases the odds may be 100/1 or better.

  1. Teaser

Just as it sounds in a teaser the bookmaker “teases” you by adding or subtracting points to the point spread to make it more appealing. For example in a 6 point teaser, if you like the Eagles and they are currently a 7 point favorite, (-7) you can tease then down to where they now only a 1 point favorite (-1). With teaser bets you must pick two or more teams to tease, similar to the parlay bet. Teasers have their own odds, similar to parlays.

  1. Vigorish

Often called “juice”. This is kind of like the bookmaker’s commission for taking your bet. Remember above when we talked about how most point spreads and totals are bet using 11/10 odds? Well that 10% difference is the Vigorish (vig or juice), that the bookmaker collects on all losing bets. It basically insures the bookmaker a profit if he is taking equal “action”, or money on both the underdog and favorite.

  1. ATS

Acronym for “Against the Spread”. A record of how a team has done against the spread. For example the Celtics may be 23-10 straight up, but only 17-16 against the spread. ATS statistics are often used to try to predict future betting performance.

Las Vegas Tips: Get Free Stuff with “Comps” – Vegas’ Best Kept Secret

Many people think that in order to get “comps” or complimentary items from casinos and resorts, one must be a true high-roller. This has to be one of the biggest misconceptions in Las Vegas. You do not have to blow millions of dollars in a casino in order for the folks to take notice of your playing there. You do not even have to blow thousands of dollars. In Las Vegas, all it takes is a steady gambling record and a little bit of tenacity to receive the spoils. By knowing who to talk to and exactly what to ask, you can be earning free stuff in Las Vegas in little or no time.

Casinos are ready and willing to give free stuff away to the masses. They provide complimentary drinks to folks while they are gambling in order to increase their betting levels. If you start throwing around lots of bets in Las Vegas, they will hook you up with more than just free drinks. Typically, pit bosses and casino managers do not begin to even consider “comping” something for a player unless they are betting ten dollars per had. If you are at the blackjack table and you consistently play ten dollar hands for a couple of hours, there is a good chance you have something free coming your way. It all comes down to who you talk to and what you say to them. Playing in an actual casino is far different from playing poker at situs judi bola resmi because you really have to personally interact with the people around you.

If you want to get the best comps, make sure you find the pit boss or the floor man at the casino. He will be the guy who can make it happen. If you can find them just before you are ready to leave a table, they will likely tell you exactly how long you need to play in order to qualify for certain complimentary items. Las Vegas veterans know that it is better to ask the pit boss for a complimentary “dinner” instead of a “buffet”, as the dinners in Vegas represent the more upscale restaurant. Another interesting item that you can receive is a line pass. With this pass, you can move to the front of the line at an event or a restaurant. Typically, smaller limit players can only score a line pass for a single event. The big boys of Vegas can get the line pass that is good for their entire stay, meaning that they will never have to wait in line for anything.

If the timing is right and you have played enough in the casino, they will give you free things. Do not expect to have your entire stay comped unless you spend some large cash, but you may be able to score a free meal or two because of your steady work in the casino. Take advantage of these bonuses, as they make Las Vegas that much more enjoyable.

Hosting a New Year’s Eve Poker Party

Are you looking to host a New Year’s Eve Party this year and need some ideas? Well you have come to the right place. I like to do theme parties especially at New Year’s and one of my favorites is a Poker Party. Now if you have lots of friends who are unfamiliar with card games it may bore them to tears.

However if you do play cards from time to time with a group, invite them over for a New Year’s Eve Poker Party. But the key is making other kinds of entertainment available for those who do not wish to play. On https://koinqq.com/ you get to learn more about poker games and different poker games that you can play with your friend and relatives as you host a new-year party.

If your home is roomy enough then there is no problem. I do have my own Poker Table but I often rent one or two more depending on the number of guests I expect to attend. You can rent one from event planner type businesses so you don’t need to go to the expense of purchasing a poker table for the party. One advantage of multiple tables is people can play different poker games at each table if that is the desire.

Before everyone gets there and starts drinking a little, make sure of what games you want to play. I like to keep a rules book around for card players who may not be familiar with all the games. I strongly advise using a copy of the Book of Hoyle which is widely accepted as “The” rule book of card games. You can pick them up anywhere and here is a good one at Amazon.com

If the New Year’s Eve Poker Party is going to have more than two card tables going you need to buy multiple decks of cards. I like to have two decks per table for each Poker Party I throw. Sometimes the brand new decks of cards are slick and want to fly all over the place during the shuffle. If you have a little baby powder to lightly sprinkle the cards with, this will stop them from being so slick.

If you are playing for money (only if legal in your area of course) then you want to buy some poker chips. My friends and I use them even though we only play for small stakes. This isn’t Vegas it is a New Year’s Eve Poker Party. You can simply go to or order online from Walmart. They have a decent range of prices on their poker chips.

Often to keep any hard feelings from arising with the alcohol blood levels we just play Gin Rummy for points. You can have tournaments going if you have multiple guests and tables. That way everyone plays with different people during the night and can mingles and socialize better with each other. Here is a good article about party theme ideas from Fun-theme-party-ideas.com that has some advice about Poker Parties.

We keep the music down low playing some 70’s stuff or Pop from this time era. But nobody wants loud thumping music when playing cards. For refreshments we may have some finger sandwiches but it is mostly chips and dip. Maybe some pretzels and peanuts to go with the beer if that is being served. If you feel the need to cater, then they can help you with what to serve for a less formal party.

If possible try to keep the drinking AT the poker tables to a minimum especially if you rent them. Spills tend to occur as Midnight creeps up on New Year’s Eve.

I really think a New Year’s Eve Poker Party is the way to go for some of us who like a laid back party. You don’t have to get drunk and howl at the moon to have a good time with your friends.

London’s World Strip Poker Championship

One weekend last summer in the sleepy English town of London, a bunch of no-account hippies made history while naked and most likely inebriated. Male and female poker players from around the world (and over the bush) showed up at the Cafe Royal in London’s Picaddily Circus on August 19th, 2006, to play in London’s World Strip Poker Championship. At stake in the championship,10,000 pounds Sterling, and the right to say, “I won! I won, you naked losers!” Traditional no limit Texas Hold’em (ew) was played to seperate the shirts from the skins. In this instance, retaining your modesty means you’re going for the gold. This is quite essential to know while you are playing a game of Bandarqq.

One would assume that such a prestigious battle of wits, and other things, would be the brainchild of say, a Queen Elizabeth, or an Archbishop of Canterbury. Shockingly, it was an Irish bookmaking agency by the name of Paddy Power who organized London’s World Strip Poker Championship. You can be certain that very soon, the queen will be calling on the bookmaker to say thank you for helping London introduce what will hopefully be the next official olympic sport (sponsored by Axe body spray).

Besides the money and the bragging rights, John Young, the winner of London’s World Strip Poker Championship received the “Gold Fig Leaf” trophy, and the title of World Strip Poker Champion. The good folks at Paddy Power were hoping to set a world record for the largest strip poker tournament in the world, or the largest naked riot in the world, whichever came first. It seems they got both!

You may read this story and think to yourself, “The world’s gone mad! It’s Sodom and Gomorrah! What would have stopped them from running out into the streets naked and children seeing them?!” But calm down, concerned citizens. The rules of London’s World Strip Poker Championship were quite clear: Players were to begin the championship play with five items of clothing on provided by the organizers-probably Paddy Power Rocks t-shirts, and matching ensembles. But anyway, each player was also to be given a towel with which to sit on and cover themselves, but only if they found themselves completely naked. Local reporters covering London’s World Strip Poker Championship expressed sadness and anger that pasties and tassles with the Paddy Power logo wouldn’t be provided for the female players. Apparently that would fall under inappropriate behavior, which the folks at Paddy Power say can’t be tolerated. So…nakedness tolerated, but not flagrant nakedness. That makes sense.

And where did the idea for London’s World Strip Poker Championship stem from, you may ask? A couple of years ago, through completely scientific and above-board research, Paddy Power discovered over 50% of online poker players enjoy playing in the nude. I’m sure it’s just the poker that people are enjoying nude in front of their computers…right? Right?!?! Anyway, upon the discovery of this fact, Paddy Power hatched the idea for London’s World Strip Poker Championship to keep Ireland from getting depressed that they didn’t make it to the World Cup finals this year (or any year).

The prior world record for the largest naked card game, (104 players) was set in 1999 by the Naturist Society of Estonia who, in an unusual twist, started off naked and donned clothes as they lost hands. The winner, Petma Boom, donned the least amount of clothing in the 2 hour event, finishing the game wearing just one sock. I tried to glean where that last sock was actually located on the body of “Boom”, and whether “Boom” was a male or female, but my request was ignored…or granted, not sure which. I don’t speak Estonian.

And so it came to pass that on a humid day in August, 2006, Picadilly Circus became forever known as, “the place that naked hope built”. We here at this site hope that London’s World Strip Poker Championship has inspired other likeminded souls to create their own strip poker championship across America, and the rest of the world. When we allow ourselves to play poker naked with a bunch of strangers who have questionable skin issues, we become one, just like U2 said.

The naked human body is a beautiful thing. So is gambling. It’s about time someone brought the two staples of a happy life together in a public venue with hundreds of people participating. God Bless you, Paddy Power, and London’s World Strip Poker Championship.

How To Adjust To Aggressive Pre-Flop Three-Betting IN No-Limit Hold’em

In no-limit hold’em poker, if two tight players get it all-in pre-flop, they usually each have a very strong hand like a big pair or Ace-King. Aggressive players have picked up on a side-effect of this, that the average tight-aggressive player will fold a large portion of the time if re-raised pre-flop. To take advantage, these players will put in the first re-raise (also known as a three-bet) pre-flop with a wide range of holdings, hoping that the average tight-aggressive players will fold too often to their semi-bluff and that it will be profitable. This so-called “light” three-betting is rampant in today’s online poker games, and even in some live games. Here we’re going to look at the four best ways to adjust to aggressive pre-flop three-betting in no-limit hold’em poker. Beside all these techniques you can also visit Situs Judi Bola Online to learn more about betting opportunities. You can easily use these pre-flop techniques to improve your betting game.

Adjustment 1: Lower your raise size. Most people like to raise to four or five times the big blind. This gives your opponent a much larger reward the times you fold to their three-bet. When you’re facing someone who three-bets a lot, you should drop to a raise of about three times the big blind instead. This doesn’t change much pre-flop, but drastically changes the pre-flop portion for your opponent.

Adjustment 2: Open fold with the worst 10-20% of your normal raising range. The idea here is that you’re going to be folding most of the time to a three-bet, so you can lower the percentage of the time you fold while minimizing the post-flop effect of your changed range by dropping the bottom portion of your raising range. This means your opponent’s three-bet bluffs will work less often, and therefore be less profitable.

Adjustment 3: Four-bet bluff more often. In no-limit hold’em poker, when your opponent is bluffing a large portion of the time, one way to adjust is to occasionally re-bluff. Here you’re going to want to put in the second re-raise with a wider range than normal. When doing this, be careful that you don’t make your bet size so large that you are committed to the pot the times your opponent makes a five-bet.

Adjustment 4: Call three-bets in position more often. If your opponent is three-betting a lot out of position and the stacks are deep enough, you can start calling profitably with a wider range of hands. Your positional advantage will compensate for any occasional disadvantage in cards, and you’ll often be able to pick up medium-sized pots when your opponent misses the flop with his bluffing hands.

What you need to keep in mind is that no-limit hold’em is a very popular form of poker right now, so the play involved is going to evolve much faster than other less-played games like seven card stud. To maintain your advantage in a game that is advancing this quickly, you have to evolve your own strategies as well.

Review Of Harlow’s Casino In Greenville, Mississippi

If you’re traveling in the home of Delta Blues in Mississippi looking for fun and a little gambling excitement, you might want to visit Harlow’s Casino sitting on the Mississippi River close to the bridge connecting Mississippi and Arkansas. Harlow’s Casino is the newest casino in the Delta region. One of three casinos in the Greenville area, Harlow’s Casino is not a large casino by Tunica or Gulf Coast of Mississippi standards, but the layout is such that you never feel crowded. For the size, it packs a lot of excitement and entertainment into a small, but beautiful environment.

The gaming floor in the casino houses 33,000 square feet filled with table games, such as Blackjack, Three-Card Poker, Mississippi Stud, etc., as well as a seven-table poker room and over 900 slot machines. For those wishing to participate, there is the Delta Rewards Players Card which will allow the player to earn points toward meals, gift shop items and same day cash back. (For more information on how to use comps in casinos, refer to my article, “What Are Casino Comps and How Do I Use Them?)

One of Harlow’s drawbacks is that they only offer two restaurants which is limited compared to other casinos. The Hollywood and Vine offers a deli style atmosphere for meals and is open 24 hours a day. If you’re looking for a more diverse meal with variety for a reasonable price, the Legends Buffet is a reasonably size buffet with little wait time and plenty of seating. Food is served in a clean atmosphere and is very tasty.

One of the biggest attractions to me is Harlow’s Casino is their Celebrity Arena seating over 2,500 and where they bring in a variety of attractions. In the next few months they will be visited by such artists as Ashton Shepherd, Roy Clark, Amanda Overmyer, Jeffrey Osborne, and Bucky Covington. In addition, there are two additional stages, one on the gaming floor and one in the hotel lounge, featuring a variety of local bands and artists.

Harlow’s Casino has a new hotel with more than 100 rooms, but I did not have any trouble making a reservation on a weekend. The rooms are extremely comfortable and roomy with all the modern amenities of a nicer hotel. Rates run around $100 a night.

I would recommend Harlow’s Casino to anyone wanting a little trip in the Mississippi Delta. It is located on Highway 82 west approximately five miles from Greenville, Mississippi. If you decide to visit around the Greenville area, there are three additional casinos located on the river, the Lighthouse Point Casino, the Las Vegas Casino, and the Bayou Caddy’s Jubilee Casino.

Harlow’s Casino has one restriction that I’ve not found most casino properties to have, and that is that they do not allow anyone under the age of 21 on the property. So if you are thinking of making this a family trip, I would discourage that idea. Where most allow children in the dining areas and hotel, Harlow’s Casino does not.

You can learn more about Harlow’s Casino in Greenville, Mississippi at jasabola88. You get detailed reviews and ratings, you can even play online card games and earn some serious money there.

How to Handle Failed Pre-Flop 3-Bets in No-Limit Hold’em Poker

In recent years, no-limit hold’em has become the most popular form of cash-game poker by far. With the influx of players who learned the ropes by playing on the Internet has come a new wave of hyper-aggressive players who raise and re-raise pre-flop a much larger percentage of the time than there more conservative predecessors. And you can easily notice such trend in Situs Judi poker online today.

To keep up with this overly active play, more and more players are learning how and why to make 3-bet (re-raise) bluffs pre-flop. Because the pre-flop portion of the 3-betting game with the normal 100 big blind stacks is largely mathematical and easy to learn, to gain an edge on this crowd, you have to look to the post-flop play when there’s a 3-bet and someone calls. Here we’re going to address playing the flop in these types of situations and how you can outplay your opponents.

The characteristics of flops in 3-bet pots are pretty straight-forward. The pot size is large compared to the size of the remaining stacks, and each player’s range of possible holdings is usually relatively small. The player in position will have a small advantage with all else being equal, but the positional advantage will be smaller than if the stacks are deeper relative to the size of the pot because on average fewer bets will be made in the post-flop portion of the hand. With the basics of 3-bet pots out of the way, let’s look at general strategy.

With draws that likely have 8 or more outs, you should usually be c-betting and getting the money in if the starting stacks were about 100 big blinds. The reason for this is that you only need a very small amount of fold equity for your semi-bluff to be more profitable than folding. Similarly, you should usually just get the money in if you have a vulnerable over-pair like pocket Queens on a Ten-high flush draw board because having an over-card come is a huge mistake because the pot size is so big.

The only truly difficult decisions come whenever you were the 3-bettor pre-flop and you are out of position on the flop, and you didn’t come close to hitting the board. The reason this is difficult is that it’s likely your opponents will be shoving over with any draw, so you can’t make your continuation betting range too weak by betting a lot of the time when you miss. On the other hand, you can’t make your checking range too weak either or you’ll constantly get bet into when you check and have to fold too often. One solution is to split your weak hands between your checking range and your continuation betting range, while also checking some of your strongest hands in order to induce bluffs. This keeps both your c-betting and checking ranges balanced.

How to Use Probability to Win at Poker Hold’em

Poker is ranked amongst the most played card games around the world. So what is it that makes this game win over millions? Is it the thrill of the game? Or is it the poker chips we play with? To be honest it’s a bit of both but probably the biggest factor that makes poker so much fun is unpredictability. Of course if you’re a math whiz you can increase your chances of winning by working out the probability of your hand winning a round, but not all people are like Ben Campbell, the mastermind in the movie 21 who cheated the system with his fast math calculations to win big while gambling. You should check out situs judi online terpercaya to learn more tricks that you can use to increase you chance of winning any game of poker. You can easily learn these tips with a little practice you can easily master the game of poker.

So what makes you sure that your hand is going to win as compared to your opponents? Well firstly if you have a high combination of cards then you win, that’s how the game goes. But sometimes you don’t know whether your opponent has a higher combination of cards or is he just bluffing. Well nobody can tell what your opponent has. You can only make an estimate of what that person might possibly have. In order to do that you have to focus extremely carefully at every move your opponent makes: from his eye movements to his betting. Every move should be monitored. There are many ways poker players do that. The first thing they do when the first three cards are turned is to increase the bet, regardless of the card combination one has. If someone folds then they are automatically out of the picture for that round, but if someone calls then you can figure out that that particular opponent has a combination of cards or can have one. Once the dealer deals out the fourth card and everyone checks: follow suit, or you can also raise but to a certain limit, not too less and not too much. The fifth card is often the decider; sometimes it’s just another card as someone already has a good combination from the previous four cards on the table. But sometimes people win on the 5th card; this is the case usually when a player gets a flush, straight or a three of a kind. When people win on the 5th card they win on the river. This can be a real heartbreak for someone whose combination might be smaller than the possible combination due to the 5th card.

It’s much better if there are only 2 or 3 people competing when the game is in its later stages. It helps one to concentrate on them and also increases ones chances of winning. There’s often a problem when people are expecting to win on a three of a kind and end up losing to a full house combination. One should always be careful about that. In order to check for such a situation one should always increase the bet if the three of a kind formation is on table. If one of the opponents increases the bet, it’s advisable not to call and fold humbly. But if the opponent calls then one should always go on the offensive and increase the bet. One should be careful that once people bet a lot on the previous rounds, they become desperate. They let emotions control them and keep on calling and raising, regardless of their card combination which mostly isn’t a good one.

Another major factor that helps one win rounds in poker is the mind games. There are basically two types of players that mostly win: the explosive type, a player who is always calling and raising on the slightest of possibility of that person getting a good combination. And then there’s the cautious type, one who keeps his cool, hardly goes on the offensive and only bets and raises when the cards are to the players preference. The former, surprisingly, is the more successful player. With major poker champions like Jamie Gold usually winning through bluffs or high cards to climb all the way to the top and bagging a whopping 12 million dollars. And it wasn’t because he had been playing poker for a long time; it was because he was analyzing his opponents much better than they were analyzing him.

Poker is certainly not your average card game; it requires mental presence and a good temperament. Patience is the key to winning and with the correct strategy one can even make the pros look like amateurs.
